How to Heal After Being Ghosted

Ghosting occurs when someone abruptly ends communication with another person without any explanation. This can be especially cruel when it happens in a romantic relationship or a budding connection.

A Forbes Health survey of 5,000 people found that 76% of participants had either ghosted someone or been ghosted while dating. However, just because ghosting is widespread doesn’t make it any easier to handle when it happens.

Being ghosted can deeply erode self-esteem and lead to self-doubt. When a connection is severed abruptly, it often leaves the person feeling confused, questioning what went wrong, and replaying past interactions in search of answers. The lack of closure can feel like an unresolved mystery, making it harder to move on.

1. Recognize That You Don’t Need Their Closure
